Although “unanimous” begins with a vowel (U), the pronunciation includes a “y” sound before the vowel, so it sounds more like “You-nanimous.” The decision to us “a” or “an” is based on the pronunciation, so we say “a,” as in “It is a unaninous decision taken by the team .”
