Correct Answer
There are various factors and conditions responsible for having different types of rural settlements in India.
These include:
(i) physical features ā nature of terrain, altitude, climate and availability of water
(ii) cultural and ethnic factors ā social structure, caste and religion
(iii) security factors ā defense against thefts and robberies.
Sex ratio is a demographic factor and doesn't directly determine the location of rural settlements. Therefore, option 4 does not affect the location of rural settlements.
